Jesani Sustainability and Carbon Reduction Policy – 2025

1. Introduction Jesani is committed to supporting a low-carbon, circular built environment through the design, manufacture, and continuous improvement of our drainage solutions. As a New Zealand manufacturer working with leading architects, builders, and developers, we recognise the need for practical, transparent, and meaningful steps to reduce both embodied and operational carbon in the built environment.

2. Product Design and Material Integrity Jesani drainage channels are manufactured exclusively from 100% stainless steel with high recycled content. Each channel is precision-fabricated using 1.5 mm thick stainless steel, selected for its exceptional strength, corrosion resistance, and long service life. Our products contain no coatings, adhesives, or composite layers — ensuring clean recycling and reuse at end-of-life.

3. Embodied Carbon Reduction Jesani focuses on early-stage carbon savings through:

  • Above-slab modular installation, eliminating the need for demolition or slab cutting during repair or replacement

  • Precision fabrication with minimal waste and scrap, all of which is recycled into stainless steel supply chains

  • Minimalist, single-material construction to reduce unnecessary manufacturing processes

  • Design longevity, enabling decades of use with minimal maintenance

  • A commitment to adaptive design that supports circular economy principles

4. Local Manufacturing and Emissions Control Jesani’s stainless steel products are fabricated in New Zealand, reducing reliance on carbon-intensive international shipping and enabling direct control over energy use and materials. As we scale into Australia and beyond, we will prioritise regional manufacturing where possible to further limit emissions from transport.

5. Future-Facing Commitment Jesani is in the process of preparing Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) to formally document the lifecycle carbon impact of our products. This will enable transparent alignment with Green Star, Homestar, and Living Building Challenge frameworks.

We also actively collaborate with architects and design teams to optimise the carbon performance of building systems at the point where it matters most: early in the design phase.

6. Continuous Improvement As part of our broader sustainability strategy, Jesani commits to:

  • Regular review and refinement of fabrication processes to minimise waste and energy use

  • Transparent tracking of material sources, freight emissions, and end-of-life outcomes

  • Supporting clients and projects in meeting their sustainability reporting and certification goals

7. Conclusion Jesani is committed to doing our part in delivering high-performance, low-impact solutions for the built environment. Through material integrity, local manufacturing, and collaborative carbon-conscious design, we aim to contribute meaningfully to a lower carbon future.
