JESANI® Door Channel installation

CONCRETE FLOOR/SUSPENDED CONCRETE FLOOR

Note:  Ensure interior door position is correct before channel installation.
         

  1. Locate position of where channel will be placed on floor slab and ensure Plumber/Drainlayer situates waste pipe accordingly. 
  2. Position boxing to ensure area for the door channel can be constructed with correct falls later. Be careful not to damage damp-proofing.
  3. Position Jesani® Door Channel into the area, ensuring the larger size flange is bathroom side and connect with the waste pipe.  Use concrete to pack around Channel so it will sit firmly in position.  Allow this concrete to dry for minimum 12 hours.
  4. Once the concrete has dried, use nylon plugs and screws to fix flanges of channel into place using the predrilled holes.
  5. Waterproof floor (bathroom side) to cover the full flange of the Channel. 
    Note:  It is optional to waterproof into the trough, however ensure the waste is not covered.
  6. Tile over waterproofing to cover the full flange utilising a tile edge for a nice clean finish.
  7. Glue carpet smooth edge on dry side of door channel flange against upstand.  Fix carpet accordingly. 
    Note: ramping of carpet may be required.
  8. Insert Grill/Grate.

 

New Bathroom

Timber Substrate Flooring

Note:  Ensure interior door position is correct before channel installation.

  1. Measure trough of channel and cut timber flooring to allow the trough to hang in slot and the flanges to sit flush on top of floor.
  2. Fix the flanges of the channel to timber flooring using the predrilled holes, ensuring the wider flange sits on the bathroom side of the door.
  3. Line bathroom floor with Tile and Slate underlay, ensuring underlay covers a minimum of 20mm over the flange.  It is optional to take the underlay to sit flush over the full flange, but not inside trough.  Silicon underneath tile and slat underlay.
  4. Waterproof floor (bathroom side) to cover the full flange of the Channel.  Note:  It is optional to waterproof into the trough, however ensure the waste is not covered.
  5. Tile over waterproofing to cover the full flange utilising a tile edge for a nice clean finish.
  6. Glue carpet smooth edge on dry side of door channel flange against upstand.  Fix carpet accordingly.

  7. Install Grill/Grate

 

Renovation Bathroom

Timber Substrate Flooring

  1. Pull back carpet and remove smooth edge to create a working area.
  2. Measure trough of channel and cut timber flooring and tiles accordingly.
  3. Chase a slot under the tile and slat underlay for the wider channel flange to insert into, ensuring not to damage waterproofing and underfloor heating.
  4. Glue and insert the wider channel flange into the slot and include tile edge against tiles.
  5. Screw and fix narrow side flange utilising predrilled holes to the timber flooring.
  6. Glue carpet smooth edge on dry side of door channel flange against upstand.  Fix carpet accordingly. 
    Note:  Ramping of carpet may be required.
  7. Install Grill/Grate.
